Chaniel Williams was born and raised in San Francisco’s Bernal Heights neighborhood by her maternal grandmother. A product of the San Francisco Unified School District, Chaniel went on to attend San Jose State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Justice Studies, with a minor in Psychology. Chaniel is currently the K-2 Program Lead at Magic Zone, a year-round youth development program in San Francisco’s Western Addition; a position she had held for 4 years. Chaniel, once a participant of the program herself, feels that it is her responsibility to be the person to make the youth see their future in a brighter way. Chaniel feels like knowing that other people besides her family wanted the best for her made her push herself harder to achieve all her goals. Chaniel has been very involved in all aspects of the program, starting as an Administrative Assistant and now feels like the next step she needs to take is in leadership.
